Measurement Guide for New Window

Drapery Measurement Guide For New Window

Step 1: Finding your Style
Select Your Header Style: Pleated, Grommet, or Soft Top

Pleated: (Euro, Pintch, French, Goblet, Riple fold, or Inverted box pleat) A modern crisp look that creates evenly spaced, decorative pleats at the top of the draper panel. Perfect for stationary or frequently opening and closing.

Grommet: A modern window treatment defined by oversized metal or acrylic grommets. Creates a clean, structured pleat ideal for stationary panels. Not intended for frequent opening and closing.

Soft Top: (Rod pocket, Tab Top, or Back Tab) A relaxed window treatment defined by a soft, fabric header that forms gentle, natural folds. Ideal for stationary panels or light, occasional movement.

Step 2: Finding the Width
With NO Drapery Rods Installed:

If No: Measure Your Window Width (From the outer edges of the window frame)

Step 3: Finding How Much Space For Your Rod/Hardware

Measure how much space you have on each side of the window: (For the Rod to Extend)

Step 4: Find What Is The Height From The Top Of The Window To The Floor

Step 5: Find How Many Inches Above The Window Frame Will The Rod Be Mounted

(Recommended 6"- 8" Above Window Frame, if you have the wall space. With a Minimum of 4")

Step 6: Would You Prefer a Single Panel or Split Panels?

For Single Panel Option: (Double 2X) the Width Measurement Example: (48"width window measured + 8" Total Added Space of Left & Right side of window=56" X 2= 112" Width Total Recommended Width to Order).

For Split Panel Option: Each Panel to Equal the Width Measurement. Example: (48"width window measured +  8" Total Added Space of Left & Right side of window = 56" Width per Panel. 2 Panels at 48" width is recommended to Order).

Step 7: What Finished Length Style Look Do You Prefer?

For 1 Inch Above Floor: Minus 1 Inch from the total window height measured.

(Example: window measurements: 48" Width by 80" Height + 6" Above Window Frame for Rod = 86"Total Measurement. So now, take the 86" height - 1"Inch = 85" Recommended Order Height)

For Break On Floor: Take the window frame measurement + the desired Rod Space height for the total height measurement of 86." Use the total height measurement is Recommended

(Example: window measurements: 80" Window Frame Height + 8" Rod Space Height=88" Total Height. The 88" total height is the Recommended Order Height)

For a Slight Puddle on the Floor: Add 4 Inches to the total window height measured. (Example: window measurements: 80" Window Frame Height +8" Rod Space Height=88" Total Height. Take the 88" height + 4" Inches = 92" height is the Total Recommended Order Height for a Slight Puddle on the Floor Look)

Step 8: Finding Your Total Recommended Dimensions.

(Example Window Frame Measurements: 48" Width by 80" Height. You want 4" space on each side of the window (48" + 8" total side space = 56" Width)

For Single Panel Examples:

For a Single Panel Example: 56" Width X 2= 112" Total Width Recommended Panel.

(Example Window Frame Measurements: 48" Width by 80" Height. You want 8" Rod Height space above the window (80" + 8" rod space = 88" Height)

Option: 1 Inch Above Floor: 88" Height -1"=87" Total Height Recommended(112"Width by 83" Height for Total Recommended Order Dimensions)

Option: Break On Floor: 112" Width by 88" Height for Total Recommended Order Dimensions)

Option: Slight Puddle On Floor: 88" Height + 4" =92" Total Height Recommended (112" Width by 92" Height for Total Recommended Order Dimensions)

For Split Panels Example:

For Split Panels Example: 56"Width Per Panel. Each Window Needs 2 Panels. (Left of Window Panel & Right of Window Panel)

Option: 1 Inch Above Floor: 88" Height - 1" =87" Total Height Recommended (56" Width by 87" Height per Panel. 2 Panels Needed per Window at 56" Width by 87"Height)

Option: Break On Floor: 56" Width by 88" Height. Same Measurement as Window Measured for the Total Recommended Per Panel Order Dimensions)

Option: Slight Puddle On Floor: 88" Height + 4" =92" Total Height Recommended (56" Width by 92" Height Per Panel. 2 Panels Needed per Window for the Total Recommended Order Dimensions)

Congratulations!

You Now Have Your Total Recommended Order Dimensions.
